Resolved Question: Need Banking Help ASAP?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I have a real large problem here.
I use online banking at bank of America.
Heres my problem:
I payed my off a portion on my credit card online and couple days later I went back online and did not see the payment. I figured I must have not done, so I made the payment again.

This has put my checking account in the negative.
I have “overdraft protection” And I see that they have automatically charged some of the excess to my other “credit card’.

What can I do?
Money is not the problem. The problem is right now my account is showing a negative balance and the repercussions that might bring.

How much does overdraft protection………….protect me.

Resolved Question: How much should my credit score go up if an 120+ late is removed from my report?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I had problems with Capital One’s Payment Protection services. I waited months because I could not work to get benefits. They are going to remove all of the negative history from my report. Will my score go up by much?
I actually never checked my credit score before I had problems
(because I was stupid and never understood credit because I was young and naive) so im not sure what it was. M credit score is 539 now im trying to get it at least in the 600’s :(

Voting Question: virus protection/spyware?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I use a public computer during the day. yesterday someone got an email and clicked on a link-when brought to thye website-they clicked on a link there-when it didn’t seem to work-i went over to help-and found out it was fake-

I’m guessing the link had a virus or trojan..

the computers are state of the art with state of the art virus/spy protection-the protection software was immediately run (by the office manager).

Can I feel that this computer is safe now. Or will any passwords/credit cards/info I use in the future be at risk……
it was a fake yahoo greeting card site-it had a link to download flash-which didn’t actually download flash–

any link i went to automatically went to thsi ‘download flash’ including the help button which should have brought up something like FAQs-

upon further examination-and consult with Yahoo directly-the original lemail linking to teh greeting card site was fake..

Resolved Question: OMG! I downloaded Zilla Pop Up Killer and I now have the worst popups ever.?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Also, I got Antispyware Master with it and it’s telling me I have Trojans, Worms, Viruses and to put them away in a hatch, file or something or other.
When I go to try and delete Zilla my computer says it can’t b/c it’s still running. I can’t see it running anywhere. I can’t find the spyware anywhere except my desktop and I know that doesn’t help if I delete it. Do I really have all those viruses. I already had protection. Can they see password and credit card activity I do. I’ve had this since yesterday. Please help!

Resolved Question: Does the Data Protection Act 1998 apply to HR departments in a private company? Which parts?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

We are trying to do a security audit in our company and everyone is concerned about the HR department. Could we use the DPA 1998 in order to enforce some changes? I read it from top to bottom but it seems this act is to regulate credit agencies and such, but which regulations could I use regardings data protection within an organisation?

Resolved Question: Overdrawn again?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Bounced a check, went to the bank today to try to cover it, but with my overdraft protection fee I’m back in the negative again, and no money. I have tons of credit. Is there a way to transfer this money online, or should I resign myself to more bank charges?

Resolved Question: Protection from identity theft?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I have a real concern about identity theft and I have no knowledge on how to protect myself from it other than the standard steps for protecting from credit card and bank card. Someone may have gotten (likely) some of my personal information including my SIN # and license #.
Any suggestions?

Voting Question: Credit Card Never issued in collections.?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Back almost 5 years ago I opened a bank account with Bank Of America. I was asked if I wanted a credit card. I said no not really but they ran my credit. Said I was qualified for $1000. OK For emergences is fine. BOA Never sent me a card, Never disclosed TERMS or APR. They tied my card (without permission) to my checking for OVERDRAFT. Somehow the card got charged with overdrafts from checking. BOA never sent a Card, Statements, Bills, or anything. Nothing has shown up in my Online account (When I was with them) other then OVERDRAFT PROTECTION ($100 per instance) in checking. Statue of limitations is close (10/08) is there any way I can get this off my credit report. Again I did not want this card, Was never issued a card and BOA took it upon themselves to tie it with my checking account.

Resolved Question: What is the impact on credit rating of slowly paying medical bills?

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

In December I had emergent surgery for a spinal cord aneurysm. I have debts to several medical entities: hospital, surgeon, labs, etc. The debt isn’t something I can pay except in small increments until I get a better job. I have heard some things that I’m trying to clarify/confirm: as long as there is some payment each year on each bill, the medical entities cannot negatively impact my credit; don’t use credit cards to pay as this removes the medical bill protections, etc.

What are the facts in Texas? Where can I find complete and authoritative information on this subject?

Thanks in advance.
