I thought the big 3 equifax, transunion, and experian were all that were necessary. when I was in the process of looking for a mortgage lender for my home, some of the companies have other agencys that they are getting info from, and because my credit was less than steller i was denied. the fact that i’m fighting ID theft from a family member that I trusted, isn’t helping me at all. I know how to remove unwanted info from my file and most of the rules involving time limits and how they apply to inquires, bankrupcy,charge offs,. Now how can I clean up my credit with so many additional companies on board.

Feds Ready Plan to Fight ID Theft

The federal government will release its plan to combat identity theft in the U.S. on Monday.

After nearly a year’s work, the President’s Identity Theft Task Force will release its findings Monday at a press event in the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) offices, the FTC said in a media alert.

At 1st she said It was me who had problems then the next day she said it wasn’t all me it was him too.Recently my fiance said that he would have the mail go to his parents house even after we get married (now he lives with them). And he would open a checking Acct without my name in it & I would be handing over my paycheck to him. I am victim of Id theft that’s the reason he doesn’t want my name on the acct for 1 year. Now he has checking acct with his parents name on it. My sis thinks this whole thing is strange & she can’t trust him.
